Stainless Steel Instrumentation & Hydraulic Tubing


In many applications, properties and performance requirements exceed those afforded by the standard commodity grades of stainless steel. To meet the challenge of special conditions, PAC Stainless stocks cold finished tubing in special chemistries to meet demanding conditions.


Alloy 400
This nickel-copper alloy is frequently employed in marine and chemical processing applications. This material works well over a wide temperature range (sub-zero to 1,000 F). It provides high corrosion resistance to flowing seawater and provides excellent resistance to de-aerated hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids.

This grade was invented by the Special Metals Corporation and trademarked as 'MONEL® alloy 400.'

Alloy 625
This austenitic based nickel super-alloy is employed in applications in the nuclear power, offshore marine and aerospace industries. Extremely tough and resistant to chloride induced stress corrosion cracking, the material derives its excellent performance characteristics from the interaction of a niobium addition with molybdenum.

This grade was invented by the Special Metals Corporation and trademarked as 'INCONEL® alloy 625.'

This austenitic stainless steel features increased Molybdenum content compared to 316/L. The grade is often employed for pulp and paper mill equipment, chemical processing and semi-conductor system applications. It provides enhanced resistance to stress corrosion cracking in process environments where chlorides or other halides are present.

316L Cleaned and Capped for Oxygen Service
This instrumentation tubing is specially prepared for use in an oxygen-enriched environment. This is achieved through a meticulous cleaning and drying process. After passing through inspection to insure requirement adherence, end caps are placed on the cleaned tubes to keep the cleaned I.D. from post-cleaning contamination. Finally, the tubes are packaged in plastic bags to further insure a contaminant free product.

Alloy 825
This is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy that includes additions of molybdenum, copper and titanium. This grade is quite resistant to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) induced by chlorides and alkalis. Alloy 825 is utilized in chemical processing, acid production and sour gas and oil well applications.

This grade was invented by the Special Metals Corporation and trademarked as 'INCOLOY® alloy 825.'

Alloy 20
Alloy 20 is an austenitic, nickel-iron-chromium-molybdenum alloy with the addition of copper. This combination makes it preferable in applications involving sulfuric, phosphoric, and nitric acids. The chromium and molybdenum content provide good pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. Alloy 20 can be utilized in a wide variety of chemical process environments and had good performance in most acids, alkalines, salts, and seawater.

Alloy C276
This is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy that demonstrates exceptional resistance to an extremely wide range of harshly corrosive environments. This material is one of the few alloys resistant to wet chloride gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions. C276 is often employed in paper mill digesters and bleach plants, flue gas desulfurization plants and sulfuric acid reactors.

This grade was invented by the Haynes International, Inc. and trademarked as 'HASTELLOY® C-276 alloy.'
